Professional Career

 

I graduated from Oregon State University in 2014 where I received my Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Accounting Information Systems. Go Beavs!

 

After college, I moved to Washington state to start my career at a mid-size regional CPA firm as a tax staff accountant. During my time there, I developed many important relationships that I maintain to this day, and obtained my CPA license as a tax senior accountant. After a few years, the desire to be closer to home presented itself and I took a job at a boutique firm in the Portland area.

 

I have worked in the Portland area for the last eight years, perfecting my craft as a tax manager and business advisor. I've worked on a variety of different engagements over the years, everything from large private corporations, to high net worth families with generational wealth, to small business owners.

 

In July 2024, it was my ultimate desire to start my own CPA firm, and that's when Gates Tax & Advisory was founded.

 

Personal Life

 

I currently reside in Canby with my beautiful wife and two daughters. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my kids, collecting sports cards, weightlifting, and playing golf!
